Ingredients for Chocolate Rice Pudding:

  • 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice;
  • 3 cups water;
  • 1 cinnamon stick;
  • 2 cups warm milk;
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder;
  • 1 can (approx. 14 oz) sweetened condensed milk;
  • 3.5 oz milk chocolate, chopped.

How to Prepare Chocolate Rice Pudding:

  1. In a pot, combine the rice, water, and cinnamon stick;
  2. Cook over low heat until the rice is tender;
  3. When about 1/2 inch of water remains, add the warm milk and continue cooking, stirring occasionally;
  4. When the mixture begins to thicken and only about 1/2 inch of liquid remains, remove the cinnamon stick and gradually fold in the cocoa powder, stirring well to prevent lumps;
  5. Once the cocoa is fully incorporated, stir in the sweetened condensed milk and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes;
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped milk chocolate until melted;
  7. You can serve it warm or, if preferred, transfer to a serving dish and refrigerate for about an hour;
  8. Garnish with chocolate shavings or a drizzle of melted chocolate if desired.
