Ingredients for Chocolate Rice Pudding:
- 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice;
- 3 cups water;
- 1 cinnamon stick;
- 2 cups warm milk;
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder;
- 1 can (approx. 14 oz) sweetened condensed milk;
- 3.5 oz milk chocolate, chopped.
How to Prepare Chocolate Rice Pudding:
- In a pot, combine the rice, water, and cinnamon stick;
- Cook over low heat until the rice is tender;
- When about 1/2 inch of water remains, add the warm milk and continue cooking, stirring occasionally;
- When the mixture begins to thicken and only about 1/2 inch of liquid remains, remove the cinnamon stick and gradually fold in the cocoa powder, stirring well to prevent lumps;
- Once the cocoa is fully incorporated, stir in the sweetened condensed milk and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes;
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped milk chocolate until melted;
- You can serve it warm or, if preferred, transfer to a serving dish and refrigerate for about an hour;
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or a drizzle of melted chocolate if desired.
Enjoy!
Pro-Tip:
Be sure to stir frequently throughout the cooking process to keep the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot and burning.
