This Moist Orange Juice Cake is a comforting dessert that brings the family together for afternoon coffee. Easy to make with instant pudding mix and orange cake mix, it’s a nostalgic treat.
Ingredients for the Moist Orange Juice Cake:
Base:
- 3/4 teaspoon vegetable oil;
- 4 large eggs;
- 1 box of instant lemon pudding mix;
- 1 cup (8 fl oz) freshly squeezed orange juice;
- 1 box of orange or vanilla cake mix;
- Orange slices for decoration (optional).
Glaze:
1 cup (8 fl oz) freshly squeezed orange juice;
4 tablespoons unsalted butter;
2 tablespoons granulated sugar.
How to Prepare the Moist Orange Juice Cake:
- Preheat oven at 350°F (180°C);
- Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan;
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, vegetable oil, orange juice, and eggs;
- Beat with an electric mixer for 2 minutes;
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan;
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean;
- Let cool in the pan;
- Meanwhile, melt sugar, orange juice, and butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat;
- Stir constantly;
- Poke holes in the cake and pour the warm glaze over it;
- Let sit for 15-20 minutes until the glaze is absorbed;
- Invert onto a serving platter and garnish with orange slices if desired.
