Ingredients for Homemade Marshmallows:

  • 30g (approx. 4 envelopes) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup water at room temperature (to bloom the gelatin)
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (or your favorite flavor)
  • Food coloring if you want to add some color (optional)

How to Make Homemade Marshmallows:

  1. Bloom the unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup of water and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Cook over medium heat until it reaches the soft-ball stage (approx. 235°F–240°F).
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the bloomed gelatin, stirring well until completely dissolved.
  4. Add the vanilla extract (or your chosen flavor) and mix.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a stand mixer and beat on high speed for approximately 10 minutes, until it reaches a fluffy, marshmallow-like consistency.
  6. If desired, divide the mixture into two parts and add food coloring to one part for a colorful effect.
  7. Pour the marshmallow into a pan greased with butter and dusted with powdered sugar (confectioners’ sugar).
  8. Let the marshmallow rest until set.
  9. Cut into cubes or use fun cookie cutters for a special touch.

Pro Tip:
