Tapioca Cheese Cubes (Dadinhos de Tapioca) are the perfect appetizer or snack to pair with your favorite drink. In today’s recipe, you’ll learn how to make them quickly and easily using your air fryer for a crispy, golden finish.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Tapioca Cheese Cubes:

  • 5.3 oz (approx. 1 ¼ cups) Tapioca pearls (granulated tapioca);
  • 5.3 oz (approx. 1 cup) Semi-cured cheese (or a mix of Queso Fresco and Parmesan/Mozzarella);
  • Salt to taste;
  • Black pepper to taste;
  • 1 ¼ cups (300ml) Hot milk.

How to make Tapioca Cheese Cubes in the Air Fryer:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated tapioca, grated cheese, salt, and pepper;
  2. Gradually add the 1 ¼ cups of hot milk to the mixture, stirring well;
  3. Line a baking dish with plastic wrap, spread the mixture evenly, and press it down;
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until firm;
  5. Once firm, remove from the dish, place on a cutting board, and slice into small, bite-sized cubes;
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes;
  7. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper. Arrange the cubes with a little space between them so they don’t stick;
  8. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, or until golden brown;
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Pro Tip:

For an extra boost of flavor, sprinkle some extra grated cheese on top before air frying. These cubes taste incredible when served with sweet chili sauce or a spicy dipping sauce.
