Did you know?
Botanically speaking, a true nut is a dry fruit with a single seed (rarely two) where the ovary wall becomes very hard at maturity. Most true nuts come from pistils with inferior ovaries and do not open on their own when ripe.
Common examples of true nuts include acorns, hazelnuts, beechnuts, chestnuts, and walnuts (Source: Wikipedia).
