Ingredients for homemade orange liqueur:

  • 5 Cups of dark brown sugar;
  • 8 Cups of mineral water;
  • 3 Cups of vodka;
  • 1 Cup of brandy;
  • 6 Cloves;
  • 3 Cinnamon sticks;
  • 1 Teaspoon of Sicilian lemon juice;
  • 1 Teaspoon of grated ginger;
  • Pulp of 4 oranges.

How to prepare homemade orange liqueur:

  1. Start by peeling the oranges, removing the seeds, and discarding the pulp;
  2. Pour the orange pulp into a blender and blend until you get a homogeneous liquid mixture;
  3. Transfer the orange liquid to a sterilized bottle and add brandy and vodka;
  4. Seal the bottle tightly and place it in a sunny location for 10 days to ferment;
  5. After fermentation, take a pot, add sugar, water, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and lemon juice;
  6. Cook over medium heat until you get syrup-like consistency;
  7. Remove the pot from heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature;
  8. Once cooled, strain it and transfer to the bottle containing the fermented orange liquid;
  9. Seal the bottle again and place it in a sunny spot for another 10 days;
  10. After the second sun exposure period, strain the contents using a paper filter and transfer the liquid to another sterilized bottle.

Tip:

Once ready, store the liqueur bottle in a cool, dark place like a pantry or cabinet. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may affect the flavor and quality. Choose a glass bottle with a tight lid and prefer a dark glass bottle.
