A little bit about the history of ice cream:

The oldest references to the origins of ice cream include tales of its invention among the Persians, Roman Emperor Nero (37-68 AD) ordering snow and ice from the mountains to mix with fruit, and Chinese Emperor King Tang (618-697 AD) using a method to combine milk with river water. However, the invention of ice cream is most often attributed to the Persians.

According to historical records, the production of popsicles in Brazil began in Cataguases, Minas Gerais, in the late 19th century. Other accounts suggest that commercial ice cream production in Brazil started around 1934 in Rio de Janeiro, following the arrival of a shipment of fresh peaches from Boston. (Source: Wikipedia)
