Ingredients for this Baked Hot Dog:
- 4 small baguettes or hoagie rolls;
- 4 frankfurter-style sausages;
- 4 oz (approx. 120g) shredded Gruyère cheese;
- Dijon mustard to taste;
- Béchamel sauce to taste (check out our recipe here on the site);
- Ketchup to taste.
How to Make Baked Hot Dogs:
- Start by preparing your Béchamel sauce;
- Once the sauce is ready, bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the sausages for 4 minutes;
- Meanwhile, slice the rolls lengthwise and spread Dijon mustard on the cut sides;
- Remove the sausages from the heat, drain, and place one inside each roll;
- Top each hot dog with about 3 tablespoons of Béchamel sauce;
- Drizzle with ketchup and sprinkle generously with the shredded Gruyère;
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden;
- Serve hot and enjoy!
