Making your own almond milk at home is incredibly simple, cost-effective, and much fresher than store-bought versions. With just two main ingredients, you can enjoy a creamy, dairy-free milk that is perfect for your morning coffee, smoothies, or baking needs.

Ingredients for Homemade Almond Milk:

  • 1 cup raw, unsalted almonds;
  • 2 ½ cups filtered water;
  • Nut milk bag or high-quality cheesecloth.

How to Make Homemade Almond Milk:

  1. Soak the almonds in the 2 ½ cups of water for 12 hours (use the same water you will use for the recipe).
  2. After soaking, add the almonds and the soaking water into a blender. Blend on high for 3 to 4 minutes until very smooth.
  3. Place your nut milk bag or cheesecloth over a large bowl.
  4. Pour the almond mixture into the bag and strain well, squeezing to extract as much liquid as possible.
  5. Pour the finished milk into a clean, dry glass bottle.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Enjoy!

Tips:

If you don’t have a dedicated nut milk bag, you can use a clean, thin kitchen towel or several layers of cheesecloth.

Almond milk is an excellent plant-based alternative for those who are lactose intolerant or have a cow’s milk allergy. It works beautifully in cakes, pancakes, smoothies, and coffee.
