Did you know?
The peanut candy known in Brazil as paçoca has roots in Colonial Brazil, though indigenous peoples had earlier recipes mixing cassava flour with other ingredients. Colonial settlers later modified these, incorporating sugar to create the version we love today. Traditionally, it was handmade by roasting peanuts and grinding them with a mortar and pestle (pilão). Modern production uses industrial mixers, and the candy is pressed into various shapes, most commonly square or cylindrical. (Source: Wikipedia).
